To all residents and property owners within the City of Colome
City ordinance requires that all weeds and grass taller than ten (10) inches be cut, mowed or sprayed with an approved chemical. If any grass or weeds exceeding this height are observed seven (7) days following the publication of this notice, the City can, at their discretion, mow and or spray with approved chemical said vegetation at a rate of $100.00 per hour, plus the cost of any chemical used, with a $100.00 minimum.

Location: Colome, SD
Duties include, but are not limited to the following: operating a variety of equipment, including heavy equipment; maintenance of water meters, pumps, pipelines, water and sewer mains as necessary; monitoring the city’s water and waste water systems; maintenance and cleaning of streets; mowing and maintenance of parks and other city-owned properties; maintenance of city-owned building; manual labor as needed and other related duties.
Applicant must be in possession of the following certifications/licenses or able to obtain within 2 years of start date of employment: Water Distribution Class 1, Wastewater Collection Class 1, Wastewater Treatment Class 1 or Stabilization Pond Class 1; Restricted Use Pesticide License. Applicant must have a lifting capacity of 75 lbs. Full benefit package included. Salary negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

City of Colome will be hauling gravel & resurfacing the alleys beginning Saturday, May 25th, 2019.
Please have your alley area clear of vehicles and any items that may be in the way of the resurfacing project.

The Colome Consolidated School Board will be celebrating 100 years of graduates during Homecoming Coronation.

Homecoming Football Game: Cowboys vs. Gayville/Volin at 7:00pm
A chicken supper served on the night of Homecoming, Sept. 14th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Colome American Legion sponsored by local Colome Alumni. Everyone please feel free to attend it is a free will donation to help cover costs.
Last Friday night, high school football season kicked off in South Dakota for all three nine-man classes and class 11B. It’s always said that records are meant to be broken, and that nearly happened opening night when Colome hosted Centerville.
The theme of this game was lots of scoring… for the Cowboys that is. Coach Ben Connot’s Cowboys were victorious 72-6. Yes, you read that correctly, Colome scored 72-points. And it to make it even more impressive, all of the scoring occurred in just the first half.
The Colome Area Farmers Market season will begin on July 19, 2018 and run through October 18th, 2018.
The Market will be held at the Colome City Park from 4:30pm to 7:00 pm and is open to the public.
